Joint Maltese - Libyan migrant rescue operation 09.02.2020

🔴 SAR Op 09.02.20 - Malta Armed Forces P-62 and Libyan Coast Guard ship "Ras Jadar" rescued in joint night operation 91 migrants from 1 boat. All migrants upon rescue were transferred to Maltese warship and are currently awaiting disembarkation.

* Libya 06.02.2020 - Meeting of Coastal Security Director and IOM Head of Immigration & Border Management in Tripoli. During meeting issues of joint cooperation, establishment of disembarkation points, training and capacity building of coastal security staff were discussed.

Smuggler's truck collides with fuel tanker kills 5 migrants

*Libya 05.02.2020 – A collision near Sabha between smuggling truck transporting migrants and a fuel tanker resulted in 19 seriously injured & 4 dead incl. 1 Libyan. All accident victims were transferred to Sabha Medical Center for emergency treatment.
