Joint Turkish - Libyan migrant rescue operation 28.01.2020

🔴 SAR Op 28.01.20 - Joint rescue efforts - Turkish Navy frigate TCG GAZİANTEP and Libyan Coast Guard ship "Sabratha" rescued 30 migrants incl. women from 1 rubber boat. All disembarked safely at Tripoli Naval Base. (VIDEO)

[UPDATE] SAR Op 28.01.20 - Turkish Navy and Libyan Coast Guard rescued jointly 78 migrants including 1 women from 1 rubber boat and NOT as previously reported 30 migrants. Rescued migrants were predominately of Sudanese nationality.

* Libya 28.01.20 - Meeting of Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Immigration Affairs Mohamed Al Shebani with Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi in Tripoli. During meeting number of matters related to illegal immigration & current challenges were discussed. Issue concerning efforts of the Libyan Coast Guard in rescue operations was also high on agenda.

Annaser Organization provided baby formula to stranded migrant women with children

* Libya 28.01.20 - Annaser Organization for Development and Relief staff provided baby formula and supplements to stranded migrant women with children at al-Nasr Immigration Detention Center in Zawiya.

1780 migrants detained and processed in Janzour Immigration Detention Center

* Libya 28.01.20 - According to official statistics issued today by DCIM administration for the period of 2018-19 a total of 1780 migrants were detained, processed and identified at Janzour Imm. Detention Center.

Libyan Coastal Security patrol from Zuwara rescued 29 migrants

🔴 SAR Op 26.01.20 - Libyan Coastal Security patrol from Zuwara rescued 29 migrants incl. women & children from 1 boat 30 nm North of Mellitah. All disembarked safely at Zuwara. Upon medical assistance and humanitarian aid migrants were transferred to Security Directorate for processing and accommodation.

Libyan Coast Guard ship "Fezzan" SAR Op 25.01.2020

🔴 SAR Op 25.01.20 - Libyan Coast Guard ship "Fezzan" rescued 49 migrants incl. 2 women and 6 children from 1 boat off Zuwara. Migrants disembarked safely at Hamidiya Point in Tajoura ca. 21.00 hrs. Upon medical attention and humanitarian aid all rescued were released.

Nationality of rescued: (Male) Morocco 19, Bangladesh 10, Egypt 4, Nigeria 2, Somalia 2, Senegal 1, Gambia 1, Ghana 1, Palestine 1 - (Female) Nigeria 1 (pregnant), Ghana 1 - (Children/Male) Somalia 4, Bangladesh 2.

Libyan Red Crescent provided clothing & personal hygiene products to migrants

* Libya 25.01.20 - Libyan Red Crescent provided clothing, baby milk, diapers and personal hygiene products incl. soap, shampoo, toothpaste & toothbrushes to a group of migrant women & children scheduled for repatriation at Kufra Immigration Shelter. Only Libyan Red Crescent answered the call for humanitarian assistance despite many requests issued by DCIM administration in Kufra to authorities and international organizations.
